The site, situated on the banks of the River Calder on the outskirts of Halifax, was once home to a Yorkshire Water office facility. The original intention was to convert the building into a new facility for GAMA but it soon became evident that it was beyond conversion so GAMA opted to demolish and construct a bespoke R&D facility.

The development consists of 10,764 sqft of office and research laboratories spread over two floors with associated vehicle parking, gardens and a large external decked area overlooking the river for external dining and informal meetings.

The overall design philosophy was based around GAMA’s desire to have a contemporary facility, be cutting edge and be fully representative of their brand and culture. GAMA developed their reputation based upon its ethos for quality and innovation – these principles have been adopted and followed through in the development.
