We were specifically appointed to design and deliver the largest Resource Recovery Park in Europe on a 100ha green field on the Manchester Ship Canal as part of the Atlantic Gateway Strategy.

This tri modal facility accommodates a full spectrum of waste recovery and Energy from Waste facilities together with SME’s and an education campus, visitor centre and Eco Park on 54 hectares.

In addition, a further 40ha has been designed as a Biodiverse Wetland Habitat and SUDS schemes combined with arable land.

The design underwent peer review by CABE who stated that proposed masterplan had the potential to be an exemplar development.

The site will also include the UK’s first Plastics Park which provides a comprehensive solution for the management of plastic waste generated within the UK.
