The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) is part of the University of Lancashire (formerly the University of Central Lancashire), located on the Preston campus.

In September 2023, Horizon Fletcher Rae were appointed by the contractor Morgan Sindall to deliver RIBA Stage 5 works.

The SVM provides over 51,000 sq. ft. of modern teaching accommodation across three floors, designed to support up to 689 students. Facilities include Wet and Dry Anatomy laboratories, a Science Microscopy Laboratory, Seminar Rooms, a Computer and Study Suite, as well as changing areas and WC facilities.

Extensive external works were also undertaken, creating a cutting-edge facility equipped with class-leading teaching and learning environments. This development establishes the School as one of the leading centres for veterinary education in the North West of England.

The project was completed in March 2025, with the first cohort of aspiring veterinary surgeons arriving shortly afterwards.
